Easter Appeal starts off at Access Self Storage in Reading

On the first day of the Easter tour, the hero team hooked up with the Easter bunny on the M4 and set off to Access Self Storage in Reading!

The team turned up to discover that the public had outdone themselves and there were boxes and boxes of amazing presents donated to Reading Family Aid! Brand new cuddly toys, games, colouring books and clothes had been kindly given by the residents of Reading and we can’t thank them enough!

The Best of Reading and Reading Chronicle were there to document the visit and just because he likes to boast, the Easter bunny showed off his overly hair legs to the camera men! The store manager was interviewed and staff photographed. What a fantastic day!

Watch this space for the follow up piece in the Reading Chronicle and join us on the next leg of our journey on Friday 8th April when we’ll be visiting Portsmouth and Southampton. Pray for sunshine!!

Access Self Storage wins bronze award for rebrand!

The Access Self Storage Marketing team and their agency 300 million are both delighted to have won the bronze award in the ‘Best national rebrand’ category at Communicate Magazine’s Transform 2010 awards.

The award ceremony, held last night at the spectacular Tabernacle in Notting Hill, was a fabulous evening and a great opportunity to celebrate some fantastic brands and their achievements over the last year.

Jill Martin, Access Self Storage’s Marketing Manager said “Winning the Bronze award for our rebrand was a wonderful result. As an SME we simply don't have the same resources as the larger brands, so achieving this just goes to show what can be accomplished with the right agency and internal team combination”.

Access would also like to congratulate gold and silver winners, The Co-operative and Aviva, on their success.

Santa launches Southampton store

The official launch of our Southampton store took place on Sunday 6th December with a Christmas grotto event. As the store is based in the residential area of Millbrook we wanted to host an event which would appeal to our neighbouring families, so we asked Santa to come along and meet our local little ones.

As well as children from the immediate area we also had attendees from Maybush and central Southampton. All of the children had a wonderful day, getting to spend some time with Santa and a free early Christmas present. Santa also had a wonderful day, in no small way helped by the attendance of one Southampton boy who arrived in full elf costume and with chocolate and some jokes for Santa!

A representative from Southampton Hospital’s Red and White Appeal attended on the day to raise funds for this worthwhile cause. The charity were delighted to be invited along by Access as every penny raised at events makes a difference to achieving their fundraising target of £2.2 million.

Thanks to the Access Self Storage Southampton team and Martin from our Guildford store for assisting Santa on the day!

Even Santa needs Access to Safe and Secure Storage!

Access Self Storage was delighted to host a Christmas grotto event for local children on Sunday 29th November 2009, at our store on Oyster Lane, Byfleet. The event was the first of a series of six being held at Access stores. As well as being a great way for us to give something back to our local communities, the event also helped to raise money for The White Lodge Centre, a charity Access Self Storage Byfleet have been proud to support since our opening.

As well as a meeting Father Christmas himself, the youngsters from the local area also took part in a colouring competition. Some of their parents looked at our storage spaces, and decided they’d be a great place to keep presents safely hidden away from prying eyes before Christmas day!

We were delighted that the event was given a huge plug by Graham Laycock of Brooklands Radio, and that he also came along on the day with his family! Thanks also to The Woking Review who promoted the event to local residents. Finally a huge thank you to all the children, parents and guardians who came along on the day from Addlestone, Ashford, Byfleet, Staines, Walton On Thames, Westfield, Weybridge, Woking…well done to Chris and the team for going to visit so many local schools to let everyone know about our free event!

Unfortunately we were unable to secure the attendance of Chesney Hawkes, patron of The White Lodge Centre, Chertsey, however other fantastic volunteers from the centre were in store selling charity Christmas cards, raising much needed funds on the day.

We think the Access Byfleet team, pictured above with the first child to arrive to meet Santa, and our fabulous elf and Mrs Claus from Access Self Storage Camberley look like they were having a fantastic day!
