Access Head Office in CO2 offsetting mission

The environmentally conscious team at Access Self Storage Head Office have been fastidiously recycling paper, to ensure their carbon footprint is as light as possible.

In the year March 2009 to February 2010 we recycled 2230 kg of paper, saving the equivalent of 35 trees and 3,100 kg of C02. Whilst we’d like to say we intend to improve on this next year, we can best achieve this by recycling LESS.

That’s not how it sounds! We already know that we recycle all newspapers, magazines and printed paper throughout the building (we’re practically militant about it), so our aim for this year is to use significantly less paper in the first place. We’re not sure if as a business an entirely paper free office is achievable for us, but we’ve all pledged to think twice before printing anything.

So, we will continue to aim for recycling 100% of paper, but using much lower volumes. Watch this space for our 2010-2011 results. In the meantime the certificate (as above) hangs proudly on out wall as a reminder to us all of the great things we’ve achieved this year and to help inspire us to be even more environmentally friendly going forward.
